Antimicrobial stewardship programs in a Mexican private healthcare system: a self-assessment of core elements
A cross-sectional study was conducted on 12 hospitals in Mexico to assess the status of Antimicrobial Stewardship Programs (ASPs). The results showed a median overall ASP development score of 32.3%, with the highest scores observed for those with over 40 beds. The core elements with the lowest scores were education and training, reporting and feedback, and hospital leadership support. The study concludes that national implementation of ASPs is necessary to combat antimicrobial resistance.
